Max Weight for Positions

Max Weight for Positions

Max Weight for Positions

Until now, Investment Preferences have let you define minimum position weights to ensure important holdings maintain meaningful allocations. Starting today, you can also define maximum position weights, giving you control over both ends of the portfolio construction process.

By setting both minimum and maximum position weights, you can build portfolios that better reflect your investment philosophy while helping prevent individual positions from becoming too concentrated over time.

What’s New?

You can now set a maximum position weight in Investment Preferences for any Portfolio or Framework.

During optimization, Pave will respect both your minimum and maximum position weight constraints, helping ensure recommendations stay within the portfolio construction guidelines you’ve defined.

Use it to:

  • Limit concentration in positions.
  • Maintain diversification as markets fluctuate.
  • Keep portfolios aligned with your firm’s investment guidelines.
  • Apply consistent position limits across client accounts.

Why it Matters

Position sizing means deciding how much of each investment goes into your portfolio. A minimum weight makes sure your top picks get a real place in the mix. A maximum weight stops any one holding from taking over too much of the portfolio.

Together, these limits give you more say in how your portfolio is built. Pave's optimizer follows your preferences here, while still working to keep taxes low, minimize tracking error, and hit your other goals.

Where can I configure Maximum Position Weight? You’ll find it in Investment Preferences for both Portfolios and Frameworks.

Does it work with Minimum Position Weight? Yes. Both preferences work together during optimization, allowing you to define an acceptable range for each position.

We’re continuing to refine the experience based on your feedback. Please reach out to salessupport@pavefinance.com if you have any questions or feedback!
