Product Designer
About the Job
Pave is on a mission to democratize wealth management by revolutionizing how financial advisers spend their time. Our platform is powered by a proprietary ML algorithm previously only available for billionaires. We enable advisors to build personalized investment strategies and automate trading across their entire book of business—empowering them to spend more time focusing on their client relationships and growing assets under management (AUM).
At Pave one of our greatest strengths is the diversity of our team. We are motivated by a shared love of the product, and we value building a culture of new perspectives and creative thinking. Our team has experience across many industries and eras, from companies such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, J.P. Morgan, Fidelity, several hedge funds, Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon, Wealthfront, DriveWealth, and E-Trade
Pave is scaling fast, with significant customer growth in the past quarter and even more expected through the new year. With more clients comes more strain to our small team (a good problem to have!) and there are plentiful opportunities to help the company scale reliably. This is the focus of our growing Design team.
This is a role with a lot of agency and autonomy, a bit of a playground for learning and trying on many hats. We are looking for people who want to make an impact and contribute their ideas.
Responsibilities
- Design System Craft: Build and maintain components and patterns in Figma, keep them synced with the coded component library, retire deprecated components across files
- Product Design Execution: Take PRDs and direction from senior designers into shipped screens: secondary flows, edge cases, and full feature surfaces
- Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes using AI-assisted workflows (Claude Code, Figma MCP) to pressure test flows before engineering handoff
- Cross-Functional Support: Partner with marketing, brand, and product design needs across the company
Required Qualifications
- 0–2+ years of professional experience in product design, or equivalent demonstrated through your portfolio
- Portfolio that shows strong visual design and user experience thinking. Well-crafted, thoughtful case studies matter more to us than years out of school or a specific degree
- Strong written and verbal skills, being able to communicate your ideas clearly, give and receive feedback, and write design documentation that reflects your own thinking
- High proficiency with Figma or Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
- Curious and proactive about new tools, design or otherwise (AI included), and just as sharp with the ones you already know
- Organized and self directed, being comfortable with managing your own tasks across multiple projects
